I forgot to mention the venue of the memorable event.
Venue : Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club

All 60 dolls were divided into respective make up
studios for hairdo & make up.
My make up session was at 1230pm and it had to
last until 12am.
Imagine the smears and ……
do I need to say more?

More pictures of the event;
I lazy type la
*blek*

Notice the glass of honey dew juice in front of me. It was not
my glass though, but a friend commented on the way I drank
my honeydew juice. I guess I was extremely thirsty as we didn’t
really hydrate ourselves since we arrived at the club.
 *blushes*

Okla. I guess that’s about it. No more part 3 anymore though
Good Night peeps, off to the jungle tomorrow.
Thanks for the great compliments on me being so chinese, which
is so not my type.

Gosh, just realised that I took 1 hour just to type this entry..
Paiseh betul, phone calls, msns…

Till my next coming down, and hopefully something to blog about
Adios!

Monday October 27, 2008

The grand occasion was in conjunction of Samling’s founder,
Datuk Yaw’s 70th birthday. The launching of Yaw Teck Seng
foundation started at 5pm, followed by a gala dinner where
singers from Malaysia, Singapore & China were invited.

Dinner was extremely sumptuous, with lobster & birds nest
as part of the menu. As an usherette, I was very honoured
to have the opportunity to shake hands with Sarawak’s Chief
Minister, and his wife.

We adjourned to this hall for gala dinner after the foundation launch

The hall accommodated 150 tables, thus we need LCD screens

Some of the usherettes

Braised noodle with chicken, mushroom, carrot and cabbage

Lobster :)

Birds Nest Chicken Soup (Individual Serving)

Broccoli with Mushroom & Abalone
All usherettes were on duty, passing gifts to all guests, thus
the waiter divided into individual portions to make way for future
servings

Steamed Fish

Tiger Prawn & Chicken

Fire works @ 11pm.

I missed the cute longevity bun (‘Man Tau’) & the fresh fruits pallet
as we had to be on duty :)

Throughout the night, the drinks were on a free flow basis;
Fruit juices, red wine, beer, champagne, chinese tea

All tired usherettes adjourned home at 12am. The worse part for me
was the make up removal & the midnight hair washing. My left eye
turned red & swelled slightly, most probably due to tiredness &
also the make up that went in?

The effort of the working committees for the success of this event
should be greatly applauded.

As for me, I had a great time (except for my feet) with many other
Samling beauties. Something afresh and different from the mundane
routine work in the jungle :)

Friday October 24, 2008

That was how 60 of us were regarded this afternoon by the ‘ang mohs’ at the golf club. Our huge crowd created some commotion as all of us were wearing the super-hard-red-heels for rehearsal.

Another ‘angmoh’ even enquired if we were like in some ‘American Idol ‘contest and trying to be funny, I answered sarcastically ‘No, America’s Next Top Model..’Talk about being sarcastic and mouliu ..gosh, I am getting better in it???

Gee, I am super tired now. Had a good nasi lemak dinner just now and second round was sponsored by Pearl , to feed hungry mosquitoes

Current status : Anticipating 1st visit to another site tomorrow.

Gosh, 1.10am and I’d better hit the bed.Gotta wake up EARLY to catch the birds
Nite!

Do I need to say more?

Price of everything increases.

Petrol, food, daily needs, the list goes on ..

My 1 week in Miri past week left me feeling really broke.

And I for the first time, I was glad that I was finally leaving Miri.

RM 6.50 for a plate of nasi goreng special that comes with 2 tiny

pieces of chicken wings & 2 finely sliced cucumber + 1 fried egg.

It’s time to give thanks that at work, I am free of the worries above.

Oh no, I speak as if I am really glad turning into a jungle gal..

…when the market collapses that is :) …..

He made my day.
The session was fun and edifying..
No complaints :)

I cant agree more on some of the points he pointed
out …and the way he expressed them are entertaining

It was such a ‘historical’ event for us when he made us
blew a balloon each…the last time was like 10 years ago??
hahaha

Ah…I guess I was worrying too much about falling asleep
in the training hall..

Monday October 13, 2008

means nothing if you don’t keep them
And if you don’t think you could fulfill them,
DO NOT make any promises.

Whether, it’s gonna be the future, the sooner
of on the very same day itself, a promise will
still be a promise.

No offense, but the rate of people breaking
promises is way toooO common, and it just
doesn’t seem to matter them.

And the word trust comes in.
How do you trust a person?
Will that person disappoint you if he/she
breaks a promise?

This topic is too subjective. I should end here.
Anyway, the inspiration to blog about this came
after watching one of the episodes of the series
that I am currently torturing my eyes on…

And yeah, and now, I look like this
@.@

Today’s my first day of training today in Parkcity.
Hopefully I am fully awake enough to give the
speaker my fullest attention.
Not forgetting to do the below;
*prays that no phone calls from my colleague*

I have to thank KYC who is nice enough to pick me
up for training…as I am still having some phobia/difficulties
driving the manual car…gee, I am such a lousy-pampered
-autocar-driver

A plane just flew by. The sound of it made me ‘peninsular.sick’
for a moment..The thought of not being able to head back
worsen my emo-ness…

Gotta prepare for my pickup. Time to meet socialize & make
new friends soon!

Friday October 10, 2008

The hyper & the energetic me finally resulted into a
dying-like-and-falling-sick look.

Better known as ‘mati katak’ (Malay idiom)

My tossing left and right lasted the entire night..
Worse, my roomie claimed that she was not even
affected by me ….my eyes turned green out of
jealousy upon hearing her answer, yet deep inside
was pretty thankful that I wasn’t her nightmare…
and although I am craving for the dozing off, like
now
..
I am very reluctant as the freedom of being in town
is just too overwhelming…

There is nothing much to do here..
comparatively, things and food are NOT cheap..
entertainment wise ; it’s soOoO dead at night…
to be able to survive here is already a miracle..
I presume that you will be able to get my hint that
the jungle is
WOrSe

I’d better shut my system before it gets jammed anytime
soon.

I believe in -prevention is better than cure.

*prepares to shut down*

*YAWNs*

Wednesday October 8, 2008

My Java beans are finally here !

*jumps for joy!*

Starbucks, which followed suite after Secret Recipe

finally managed to penetrate into Miri’s economy.

Once a Coffee Bean loyal fan,

(hey, I had no other options then),

I can now choose to have better cheese cakes or

some other type of ice-blended.

Since I have no other choices but to celebrate

Xmas & my 24th birthday in Miri this year, I openly

welcome coupons for SR cakes and also Java Ice-Blended/

Blackcurrent Ice-Blended (Loyal fans will know where to get them from)

*grins*

Mom ,Dad & Bro…

Since I can’t demand to have my 24th from Baskin

Robins this year, thus I want my Carrot Cake from SR !!

(gee, I am salivating while typing this entry).

Best if you guys can make it to Miri

*teehee*

but I guess this wish will only remain a wish.

Price of air tickets is way too expensive for 3 persons,

compared to me flying back… and besides, CNY will only be a month

later….Gee, I am pretty demanding huh?

Ah well, birthdays only happen once a year….

Wednesday October 8, 2008

It was way back a month ago, when I was shopping in
one of the supermarkets in Miri…..
(note that I didn’t use malls)
I bumped into Ricky!

We did some quick catching up, exchanged contacts and
just yesterday he text-ed me for a drink with Razee who
happens to be in Miri for work.

It is definitely great to be able to meet up with familiar faces.

                            From left : Razee, Ricky

It’s a pity that I wasn’t able to meet up with Chee Son who claimed
that he was in Miri a couple of times. Either I was unreachable
(still in the woods) or I was back in Peninsular.

Wednesday October 8, 2008

Last night, I was directed back to my primary school in Ipoh.
Those days, my gang comprised of all Chinese girls, and guys
used to tease us and also compete with all of us academically.
Competition was tough as the top 3 places were dominated by the girls
*er hem*

I didn’t want to wake up as it was one of my most precious
unforgettable memories that I truly missed. My click, my best friend,
my buddies, the irritating guys, the super nice teachers, the weekends
on notorious missions to create heart attack on my Mandarin class teacher
(I was forced to attend the weekend lessons, never paid attention even once)
*tsk tsk*
etc etc…and the list goes on…

Come to think of it, I was once given the opportunity to study Mandarin.
Well, the more you force me, the more I retaliate. That was me during my younger days
*blushes*

My feelings are now overwhelmed with the joy of childhood memories.
Sadly, it only happens once in a lifetime..

Well, the 6am alarm ruined my lovely dream. I really wish that I can throw the clock elsewhere..
Ah, I guess I’ll just have to accept if as a love-hate relationship …
